Pollution can’t just be washed off. To fight pollution and free radical damage, one needs to follow a holistic plan which includes a nutritious diet, regular exercise, personal time to pamper yourself and a complete skin care system with antioxidants. |
|
 |
What are antioxidants? |
| |
Free radical damage is caused when the skin is exposed to external pollutants. Antioxidants stop and reverse this damage by slowing down the oxidation process. Some examples of anti-oxidants are vitamins, falvanoids, beta carotene and polyphenois. While antioxidants are a part of our diet, the tropical application of antioxidants through skin care products, plays a vital role in slowing down oxidation and the resulting damage. |
 |
Why white tea? |
| |
Tea is one the richest sources of anti oxidants. And within teas white tea is the least processed and the most superior. Containing much more anti-oxidants power than even vitamin c, white tea is also known for its anti ageing properties by preventing premature wrinkling and skin pigmentation.

 |
Step1 – Fights with the white tea: |
| |
White tea is one of the key ingredients in the Lakme Pure Defense anti-pollution system. Carefully extracted in order to preserve its quality and purity. White tea is also one of the highest known sources of antioxidants. It contains polyphenols as a non-oxidized, active substance, which snaps and neutralizes the harmful effects of free radicals, effectively fighting off cell damage due to pollution. |
 |
Step 2 – Defense with UV filters: |
| |
UV filters provide protection against the harsh rays of the sun preventing premature ageing – spots and pigmentation. |
 |
Step 3 – Restores with ceramides: |
| |
Ceramides are lipids present in the skin which restore suppleness and radiance while enhancing hydration and moisture retention. |
