Lakme Lever operates the Lakme Studio, Lakme Absolute Salon in addition to its popular Lakme Salon format. Lakme Salon is predominantly a franchisee owned and franchisee operated (fofo) model. The network boasts of 122 franchisee partners who own and operate 155 Salons. There are 103 franchisees who own and operate more than one salon and are multi franchisee owners. One third of our existing network every year set up new salons, thus signaling that the business proposition & model are attractive and viable. Lakme has an ambition to grow the category and be the biggest organized player in the beauty and wellness category.

Lakme offers comprehensive support to a franchisee
helping them set up, operate and succeed in the business. Lakme Salons offers guidance and help around site identification and selection, layout, design & project management, training & recruitment support, launch model & sustenance and lastly established & proven systems and processes to operate the business. A dedicated new salon opening team works along with the franchisee to ensure that the business is set up for success.
The franchisee owns the project and brings in their understanding of the local catchment, time & involvement
in running day to day operations, in addition to the required capital investment of approximately 50 lacs. A Franchisee also has a responsibility to retain talent working in the salons.
A franchisee earns revenues through services offered and products retailed at the salons. A franchisee achieves operational break even within 3-6 months and can target a payback of approximately 3 – 3.5 years. A franchisee retains 82% of the service revenue while retail products offer an approximate margin of 25%-30%.
